Puri, Odisha – June 28, 2025:
In a remarkable display of devotion and service, Tirtha Yatra, a renowned spiritual travel organization based in Bengaluru, conducted Annadana Seva for over 1,500 Vaishnavas at the sacred Kunj Mutt in Puri, Odisha, with the support of the donors of Sri Dham Seva Trust, an initiative of Tirtha Yatra.
The event took place in the holy town amidst the vibrant spiritual atmosphere of the ongoing annual Ratha Yatra Festival at Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri.
Operating from its headquarters at Malleshwaram, Bengaluru office, Tirtha Yatra has built a strong reputation for organizing authentic and spiritually enriching pilgrimages across India. This recent initiative in Puri is part of their broader mission to revive the traditional spirit of Seva, Dharma, and Yatra among devotees.
The Annadana Seva at Kunj Mutt, a historic Vaishnava monastery near the Jagannath Temple, witnessed the participation of at least 1500 pilgrims, sadhus, temple servants, and visiting devotees who throng Jagannath Puri to attend the Ratha Yatra festival. Some of these devotees even walk to Puri from their villages.
With meticulous planning and utmost reverence, volunteers ensured a seamless and spiritually uplifting experience for everyone present. Hot, sattvic meals containing four varieties of curry, dal, steamed rice, sweet rice and rasagulla were freshly prepared and served with humility, reflecting the traditional values of hospitality deeply rooted in the Vaishnava culture. Every devotee was offered INR 100 dakshina as well as an umbrella to brave the scorching heat of Puri.
Speaking on the occasion, a representative from Tirtha Yatra stated, “Serving Vaishnavas during this auspicious time in Puri is both a blessing and a responsibility. We are humbled by the opportunity to offer Annadana in a place sanctified by the presence of Lord Jagannatha.”
Kunj Mutt, known for its connection to the Sri Vaishnava tradition, provided the ideal spiritual backdrop for the service. Devotees who received the offering expressed heartfelt gratitude and praised the organization for its dedication and hospitality.
Tirtha Yatra plans to expand such seva efforts in pilgrimage centers across India, fostering a culture of selfless service among yatris and spiritual seekers. This initiative not only highlights the spiritual merit of feeding devotees but also strengthens community bonds, reminding us that service to devotees is service to Lord Jagannath.
