Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh – In a welcome move that prioritizes spiritual accessibility for common devotees, the authorities of the revered Srisailam Temple have officially announced the reinstatement of the free Sparsha Darshan facility, effective from July 1, 2025.
This major announcement allows devotees the cherished opportunity to once again engage in the sacred practice of directly touching the Jyotirlinga of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy, one of the twelve revered Jyotirlingas in India. The Sparsha Darshan facility, cherished for its unique spiritual intimacy, will now be available four days a week — Tuesday to Friday, from 1:45 PM to 3:45 PM.
To ensure fair access and streamline crowd management, the temple management has adopted a computerized token system. Tokens will be distributed exclusively on the day of the darshan and will contain the devotee’s name, Aadhaar details, and contact number. These credentials will be scanned at the entry point to the Sparsha Darshan queue to avoid misuse or duplication.
In a crowd-conscious measure, between 1,000 and 1,200 tokens will be distributed daily on eligible days, depending on the anticipated crowd size. It is important to note that these tokens are non-transferable and will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
The reintroduction of the free Sparsha Darshan is being widely appreciated by devotees and locals alike, as it balances traditional devotion with modern crowd-control mechanisms.
