Tallest Statue of Maha Vishnu in India inaugurated today
A massive 108 feet vigraha of Sri Maha Vishnu shall be opened for public on June 02 in Ejipura of Bengaluru. This shall be the tallest statue of Lord Vishnu in India and the second tallest in the world.
Sri Kodandarama Swamy Devasthanam Charitable Trust, Bengaluru under its Sri Mahavishnu Vishwaroopam Project has taken up a humongous task of installing a 108 feet tall monolithic statue of Lord Vishnu in His Virata Vishwaroopa upholding the teachings of Srimad Bhagavatam.
On its official website, the trust claims to bring back the lost glory of the Vara Venkata Kodandarama Swamy Devasthanam, which was established in 1950 in Ejipura, Bengaluru, through this project. This statue of Lord Virata Vishnu shall pay homage to the heritage of India and stand as a symbol of universal peace and harmony.
The statue of Lord Virata Vishnu has been made from a single stone found in Thiruvannamalai another holy place which houses the agni lingam. The statue is beautifully carved with intricate detailing and casts His glance on bhaktas. Lord Narayana in His Vishwaroopa feature is the upholder of the entire universe as claimed in Bhagavad-gita by Sri Krishna Himself.
