The esteemed Pandharpur Wari Palki Yatra is a 12-day spiritual pilgrimage, which commenced on June 18, 2025, and arrives at Lord Vitthal’s temple on July 5, 2025.
One of the most iconic pilgrimages in Maharashtra, the Wari yatra witnesses enthusiastic participation from Warkaris (devotees), who walk for over 250 kilometers chanting bhajans and performing kirtans.
Dates and Commencement:
The yatra will begin in June 2025, with the palkhis (palanquins) of Sant Tukaram from Dehu and Sant Dnyaneshwar from Alandi commencing their journey toward Pandharpur. The culmination will coincide with Ashadhi Ekadashi, which falls on July 6, 2025, marking the spiritual climax of the pilgrimage.
Day-Wise Schedule:
June 17: The Palkhi of Sant Tukaram Maharaj sets out from Dehu.

Rituals and Practices:
Warkaris participate in the yatra barefoot, clad in simple white attire with tulsi malas around their necks. Devotional singing, reciting abhangas of saints, collective prayers, and the principle of “seva” (service) are key highlights. The palkhi procession includes dindis (groups) that follow strict discipline and maintain harmony.
