TTD Launches Laddu Token Disbursing Kiosks in Tirumala to Streamline Devotee Services

Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh – June 2025:

To improve convenience and minimize waiting times for devotees, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has launched automated kiosks for issuing laddu tokens in Tirumala. This technological upgrade is designed to streamline the process of purchasing the famed Tirupati laddus, a much-revered prasadam offered at the hill shrine.

According to officials, the new kiosks have been installed at select laddu distribution points in Tirumala. These points are overseen by Union Bank and Canara Bank to facilitate smooth operations. These counters are strategically located to cater to the large influx of pilgrims visiting the Tirumala temple every day. The new system will enable devotees to quickly obtain laddu tokens without the need to stand in long queues.

The self-service kiosks are expected to improve operational efficiency and reduce human intervention in the token distribution process. Pilgrims can now generate laddu tokens on their own by using digital payment methods or scanning QR codes, thereby ensuring a more contactless and faster experience.

TTD officials stated that this initiative is part of a broader digital transformation program aimed at modernizing temple operations while maintaining the sanctity of religious practices. The introduction of the kiosks aligns with TTD’s ongoing efforts to integrate technology into pilgrim services, especially after the success of e-darshan, online sevas, and virtual queue systems.

Devotees have welcomed the move, appreciating the convenience it brings to their pilgrimage experience. With lakhs of devotees visiting the temple each month, the automation of laddu token issuance is expected to significantly ease crowd management and enhance overall satisfaction.

Officials have also hinted at expanding the kiosk network in phases based on the success and feedback from pilgrims. TTD reiterated its commitment to blending tradition with technology to serve the needs of millions of devotees while preserving the spiritual heritage of Tirumala.
